Anybody else ever think of being more self-reliant? Like, making their own soap, or lotion, growing their own fruits n veggie bois, etc?

Cuz I googled how to make lye to make soap.

And it has somethn to do with wood ash (the white parts, not black)

N then it said you gotta grab a potato n slapp it in the lye water.

N then it basically said,, "if it floats, ur goat. If not, ur shot."

So floating potatoes make soap.
